Busan Office of Education Operates Anti-Doping Mobile Classroom with Korea Anti-Doping Agency

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education and the Korea Anti-Doping Agency recently operated the "Visiting Anti-Doping Mobile Classroom" for about 600 student athletes from 14 schools, including Busan Sports Middle and High Schools.

The "Visiting Anti-Doping Mobile Classroom" is a program newly launched this year by the Korea Anti-Doping Agency, created by converting a 5-ton truck to provide customized anti-doping experiential education for student athletes.

This classroom operates programs such as ▲Anti-Doping Quiz ▲VR Doping Test Experience ▲Signing the Fair Play Pledge. Lectures by anti-doping experts from the Korea Anti-Doping Agency and experiential programs are conducted simultaneously.

In April, the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education signed a business agreement with the Korea Anti-Doping Agency to create a clean and fair sports environment, and on the 14th, started operating the "Visiting Anti-Doping Mobile Classroom" beginning with the school sports teams of Donghang Middle School and Gamman Middle School.

A student from Busan Sports Middle School who directly participated in this education said, "It was fascinating to experience the doping test procedure, which I had only heard about in lectures, through VR," and added, "The vague fear I had about doping tests, which I will eventually face as an athlete, has disappeared."

Kim Beom-gyu, Director of the Department of Sports and Health at the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education, said, "The operation of this mobile classroom provided a good opportunity for student athletes to engage in training and competitions with a spirit of fair play through various experiential education and pledge signing," and added, "Our office will continue to make efforts to prevent doping among student athletes on its own in the future."
