The grocery shopping services previously offered through Emart Mall, Dawn Delivery Mall, and Traders Mall will be unified under 'Emart Mall' to enhance customer convenience. Dawn delivery, which was available in the metropolitan and Chungcheong areas, will now be limited to certain high-frequency metropolitan regions. Instead, the company plans to increase the number of large Picking and Packing (PP) centers to 20, strengthening the weekly delivery service called SSG Delivery to maximize efficiency.
On the 29th, SSG.com announced that it has integrated the Dawn Delivery Mall and Traders Mall into Emart Mall on its website and unveiled the renewed Emart Mall. The Traders Mall and Dawn Delivery Mall applications will be discontinued starting from the 19th of next month. Related products and services will continue to be available on the newly revamped Emart Mall as before.
By consolidating the grocery shopping services previously provided through three sites (Emart Mall, Traders Mall, Dawn Delivery Mall) into Emart Mall, the purchase flow has been designed so that customers can first select the delivery type upon accessing the home screen. Considering the characteristics of grocery shoppers who purchase multiple items at once, a new 'Delivery Fee Information Bar' has been introduced to intuitively display the items in the cart and the delivery fee criteria.
The curation feature, which recommends products tailored to individual customer preferences, has also been enhanced. Based on search, click, and purchase data, customer algorithms analyze and prioritize products due for repurchase. A curation store focusing on short-form and sizzle video content designed to spark interest operates, offering a variety of online-exclusive products in addition to Emart and Traders items. Grocery-related content such as 'Hip Restaurant,' introducing ready meals from famous eateries, and 'What to Eat Today,' recommending products by season and theme, have also been arranged.
To improve logistics efficiency, the dawn delivery service area has been reduced to certain metropolitan regions and logistics facilities have been reorganized by reallocating to large PP centers and the online-exclusive logistics center Neo, thereby increasing facility utilization. This aligns with the strategy of major domestic and international e-commerce companies shifting from large-scale investments to seeking growth and profitability simultaneously. In the metropolitan area, SSG Delivery and dawn delivery services will be adjusted according to demand within the region through three Neo centers and Emart PP centers. Outside the metropolitan area, the focus will be on SSG Delivery services through over 100 Emart PP centers nationwide.
Dawn delivery in the Chungcheong area will operate only until the end of this year, with SSG Delivery being strengthened through six Emart PP centers in the region. Currently, the company is consolidating about 120 Emart PP centers into around 100, building approximately 20 of the existing PP centers into large PP centers to maximize logistics operation capabilities. An SSG.com official stated, "The current total capacity of Neo centers and nationwide Emart PP centers is 150,000 orders per day, and future logistics investments will be flexibly made considering market conditions and efficiency."
