[Asia Economy Sejong=Reporter Lee Jun-hyung] Professor Emeritus Lee Jong-young of Chung-Ang University Law School has been appointed as the chairman of the 8th Electricity Committee.
The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy announced on the 28th that Professor Lee was appointed as the chairman of the 8th Electricity Committee. His term of office is from this day until November 27, 2025.
Chairman Lee is recognized for his active work in the energy and environment sectors, having served as the chairman of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy’s Energy Policy Advisory Committee and as a member of the Ministry of Environment’s Central Environmental Conservation Advisory Committee. He has also served as chairman of the Ministry’s Regulatory Reform Committee, president of the Korean Environmental Law Association, and dean of Chung-Ang University Law School.
Additionally, on the same day, the Ministry appointed four non-standing members to the Electricity Committee: Professor Kim Bal-ho of the Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering at Hongik University, Professor Yoo Seung-hoon of the Department of Future Energy Convergence at Seoul National University of Science and Technology, Professor Lee Sun-hee of Sungkyunkwan University Law School, and Professor Choi Sung-ho of the Graduate School of Public Administration at Kyonggi University. The terms of all five non-standing members, including the new chairman, are three years.
