Following the resignation of President Song Jong-wook, Vice President Ko was nominated as the next candidate for Gwangju Bank President.

The Gwangju Bank Executive Candidate Recommendation Committee judged that candidate Ko is the right person who can significantly contribute to the development of the regional economy through efficient management based on his diverse work experience across the financial industry.

Over 32 years of service, he has accumulated extensive experience and insight into the banking industry, is known for his excellent interpersonal skills with a wide network across the financial sector, and is highly trusted by employees while demonstrating outstanding work execution capabilities.

With his confirmation as a candidate, it is expected that he will revitalize the regional economy by strengthening community-based management, including expanding the local sales base and enhancing support for small and medium-sized enterprises.

Meanwhile, President Song Jong-wook, who decided to retire to pave the way for juniors after achieving remarkable results as the first bank president promoted from within the bank, is expected to move to the position of Vice Chairman of JB Financial Group.
