[Namwon=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jeong Young-kwon] Jeonbuk Namwon Senior Welfare Center (Director Jang Jin-seok) recently announced on the 28th that it has promoted the 'National Pension Beneficiary Empathy Travel' support project hosted by the National Pension Sharing Foundation (Chairman Kim Shin-yeol) and the National Pension Service (Chairman Kim Tae-hyun).
This project is sponsored for National Pension beneficiaries aged 60 and over, aiming to provide vitality to elderly people who have experienced emotional difficulties due to restrictions on outdoor activities caused by COVID-19, and to promote the expansion of social networks and improvement of life satisfaction by offering opportunities for cultural experiences and travel.
A total of 40 pension-receiving elderly participated in this trip, which was conducted under the theme of 'Exploring Famous Restaurants and Beautiful Places' centered around Jinhae, Gyeongnam.
First, for the beautiful places tour, they arrived at Solar Park in Jinhae-gu Marine Park in the morning and enjoyed a panoramic view from the 120m-high circular observatory, taking in nearby Busan New Port, Geoga Bridge, and the front sea of Jinhae Bay all at once.
In the afternoon, they engaged in making scarves at Damgeure Natural Dyeing Workshop.
During the approximately one-hour experience, participants personally created natural scarves for their own use, and through these uniquely beautiful works, they had healing moments that purified their body and mind tired from COVID-19.
For the famous restaurants tour, they enjoyed the scent of the sea filling their mouths at a seafood buffet.
An elderly participant in this empathy travel said, "The weather was amazingly good so that we could enjoy the last autumn of this year," and added, "It was very enjoyable to see the beautiful scenery of Jinhae Bay, eat delicious lunch and snacks, and even experience making scarves."
