Changnyeong-gun Receives Grand Prize in This Year’s Gyeongnam Province Dementia Management Project Evaluation The Dementia Safety Center in Changnyeong-gun, Gyeongnam was selected as the top county (Grand Prize) in the 2022 Gyeongsangnam-do Dementia Management Project evaluation.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Wook] The Changnyeong-gun Dementia Safety Center in Gyeongnam announced on the 28th that it was selected as the No. 1 county (grand prize) in the 2022 Gyeongsangnam-do Dementia Management Project evaluation and received a commendation from the governor.


On the 25th, Changnyeong-gun received excellent results in the evaluation of 20 institutions in the province during the Gyeongnam Provincial Wide-Dementia Safety Center Staff Workshop, covering areas such as regional specialized projects, dementia awareness improvement projects, dementia public guardianship projects, and public-private cooperation projects.


In the county, in the public-private cooperation project sector, an organic cooperation system was established with local private institutions and organizations such as the Changnyeong-gun Pharmaceutical Association, local online cafes, Changnyeong Mom Volunteer Group, and Changnyeong-gun Sports Council to strengthen material and human resources.


Additionally, through cooperative projects with the Senior Club, elderly participants in senior jobs were trained as personnel for dementia overcoming activities, actively promoting the dementia safety environment creation project and receiving high evaluations.


This year, the number of dementia registrants in the county is 1,822, operating two dementia safety centers in Changnyeong-eup and Namji-eup, and is doing its best in customized regional dementia management projects such as dementia patient discovery and case management, severe condition prevention, and family programs.


A county official said, “We will continue to do our best to build a more solid dementia safety net and strengthen customized health services for local elderly by discovering new private cooperation institutions and carrying out various cooperative projects with community resources.”
