GS25 to Promote Online Payment for Child Meal Cards in Gyeonggi-do... "Nationwide Expansion Next Year"

[Asia Economy Reporter Jeon Jinyoung] GS Retail's convenience store GS25 announced on the 28th that it will actively expand the nationwide online payment system for child meal cards provided through its dedicated application (app) ‘Our Neighborhood GS’.

First, GS25 plans to expand the online payment system for child meal cards in Gyeonggi Province in mid-next month in partnership with Gyeonggi Province and NH Nonghyup Bank, and complete the nationwide establishment including Daejeon, Gyeongbuk, Busan, Gangwon, and Jeju by the first quarter of next year.

Since launching the industry's first online payment system in June in collaboration with Seoul City and Shinhan Card, GS25 has been rapidly discussing with local governments nationwide to promote nationwide expansion.

The child meal card online payment system can be used through GS25’s Our Neighborhood GS app. Users can reserve and purchase food through the ‘Child Meal Reservation Order’ menu within the app and then pick it up at a nearby convenience store at their preferred time.

All food items within the system are subject to a uniform 20% price discount, a permanent benefit prepared by GS25 to reduce the price burden on children amid soaring inflation.

GS25 plans to prioritize the nationwide expansion of the system and the development of nutritious food for growing children, focusing its capabilities, and aims to lead the creation of an environment where children nationwide using child meal cards can enjoy greater benefits.
