All-New Range Rover and All-New Range Rover Sport Achieve Top Euro NCAP Safety Rating

Proven Safety with Euro NCAP's Highest Safety Rating

All-New Range Rover and All-New Range Rover Sport Achieve Top Euro NCAP Safety Rating

[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] Jaguar Land Rover Korea announced on the 28th that the All-New Range Rover and All-New Range Rover Sport have received the highest rating of five stars in the Euro NCAP safety assessment.

The All-New Range Rover and All-New Range Rover Sport are the latest Range Rover models to receive the highest rating under Euro NCAP's new integrated assessment method, which became more stringent in 2009. Among the Range Rover lineup, the Range Rover Evoque was the first to achieve five stars in the new Euro NCAP test in 2011.

The next-generation MLA-Flex platform applied to both models provides a solid foundation that allows a series of advanced driver assistance technologies to work harmoniously with excellent responsiveness and refined driving performance. The All-New Range Rover, available in 4-, 5-, and 7-seat configurations, has 50% improved torsional rigidity compared to the previous model, while the All-New Range Rover Sport is 35% stronger.

The award-winning All-New Range Rover scored an excellent 87% in child occupant protection and 72% in pedestrian protection, while the Range Rover Sport achieved 85% in adult occupant protection. In the safety assist system category, both models received a score of 82%.

Thomas M?ller, Senior Director of Product Engineering at Jaguar Land Rover, said, “The outstanding results in Euro NCAP are founded on over 50 years of Land Rover’s efforts and expertise in designing and manufacturing vehicles that combine safety, driving performance, and luxury. Jaguar Land Rover’s robust mixed-metal MLA-Flex body architecture provides a solid base where advanced safety systems such as emergency braking assist work harmoniously to protect both occupants and road users. These two Range Rover models are a triumph of technology itself.”

Meanwhile, Jaguar Land Rover Korea plans to introduce plug-in hybrid (PHEV) models with extended driving range for these two vehicles in the domestic market next year, in line with the Reimagine strategy that prioritizes a sustainable future.
