From the 30th to December 2nd... Latest Bio Trends, Technologies, and Products All in One Place
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyesook] The '2022 Bio·Pharmaceutical Incheon Global Confex (Big C 2022)' will be held from the 30th of this month to the 2nd of next month at Songdo Convensia in Incheon.
This event is co-hosted by Incheon City and the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA), and jointly organized by the Asian Federation of Biotechnology (AFOB), the Korean Society for Biotechnology and Bioengineering, the Korea Bio Association, the Korea Pharmaceutical Traders Association, Incheon Tourism Organization, and K-Fairs.
Incheon City is focusing on fostering and developing the bio industry as a future strategic industry of the region, including the establishment of the Songdo Bio Cluster, home to Samsung Biologics and Celltrion, the Bio Process Workforce Training Center, and attracting the K-Bio Lab Hub.
As part of this development strategy, this event will be held in a Confex (conference + exhibition) format, combining the 'Bio·Pharmaceutical Incheon Global Conference' and the 'International Bio-Pharmaceutical Exhibition.'
The Bio·Pharmaceutical Incheon Global Conference consists of keynote speeches by renowned domestic and international bio academics and six sessions reflecting the latest bio and pharmaceutical trends such as vaccines and raw materials.
Additionally, the industry inspection program includes on-site visits to leading companies in the Songdo Bio Cluster, such as Celltrion, Cytiva, and Notus.
The International Bio-Pharmaceutical Exhibition will showcase raw materials and finished pharmaceuticals, bio analysis and diagnostics, medical devices, bio clusters, universities, and institutions.
Within the exhibition, the 'Incheon City Bio Raw Materials Localization Joint Pavilion' will be established to introduce domestically developed materials, parts, equipment, and processes from six companies, promoting various latest technologies, products, and support projects in the bio-pharmaceutical field.
Alongside this, the KOTRA-linked export consultation meeting, 'Incheon Global Bio·Pharmaceutical Export Consultation (I-GBPP),' will also be held.
This is the first face-to-face consultation meeting since the COVID-19 pandemic, supporting domestic bio venture companies in exploring export channels through one-on-one customized consultations between over 50 overseas buyers, including 16 invited buyers from six countries such as Southeast Asia and the Middle East, and companies.
Furthermore, various professional seminars and B2B (business-to-business) programs are prepared, including one-on-one buyer matching programs, bio-pharmaceutical investment consultations, Yonsei Bio Health Forum, and seminars and consulting on the U.S. FDA approval process for pharmaceutical companies.
An Incheon City official stated, "This will be an opportunity to see the trends, policies, and future vision of the bio-pharmaceutical industry all in one place, and we expect networking among industry, academia, research, and government in the bio·pharmaceutical field as well as the creation of practical business opportunities for participating companies."
