[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Seocho-gu (Mayor Jeon Seong-su) is holding the ‘2022 Seocho Short-form Video Content Contest’ for everyone interested in Seocho.

The theme of this contest is ‘Seocho Shorts: Everything about Seocho,’ and participants can freely capture various topics in short videos, such as ▲hidden spots in Seocho that you want to proudly share with everyone ▲Seocho-gu restaurants that are too good to keep to yourself ▲life hacks in Seocho that you want to share with neighbors.

Anyone interested in Seocho-gu can participate. The submission method is to create a vertical video within 60 seconds in formats such as vlogs, challenges, or music videos, upload it to your own YouTube channel, and then submit it via the link announced on the Seocho-gu Office website.

The district will announce the final winners in mid-December after expert judging based on the suitability, originality, and popularity of the submitted works.

Seodaemun-gu (Mayor Lee Seong-heon) will hold the ‘Your Memories Become Records’ archive exhibition in the lobby on the first floor of the Seodaemun-gu Lee Jin-ah Memorial Library from the 29th of this month to the 4th of next month.

This exhibition is organized under the subtitle ‘Our Story of Finding Memories and Recording Today’ with four sub-themes: ▲People and Stories ▲Village and Solidarity ▲Time and History ▲Presentness.

Earlier, the district conducted the ‘Seodaemun-gu Private Records Collection Contest’ from May to July this year, and from July to September, trained 15 village recorders through a designated educational course.

They collected over 800 materials including photos, videos, and oral interviews throughout the village.

The district visualizes selected village record materials through photos and videos to present them in a diverse and interesting way at this exhibition.

On the opening day, the 29th, at 2 p.m., there will be an opening ceremony and a performance sharing session on the village record preservation project.

During the exhibition period, anyone can visit and view the exhibition during library operating hours (weekdays 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturdays and Sundays 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., closed on Mondays).

Mayor Lee Seong-heon said, “Recording and preserving our hometown and village is a very meaningful task, and I expect that the village records directly planned and collected by residents will enhance Seodaemun-gu’s identity and the pride of its citizens.”
