[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyung-min] Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, said on the 25th, "There needs to be room in the political sphere, but the judicialization of politics is serious."

Lee appeared on the Roh Moo-hyun Foundation's YouTube channel 'Alileo Books' that day and said, "The judiciary cannot be involved in everything, but our country's politics has lost its function and ended up relying on the judiciary, which is very serious."

He added, "People who think only one way are usually called psychos, and if a society does not engage in dialogue and thinks only one way, it is a psycho society," adding, "Politics is also becoming rigid."

He then referred to the past prosecution investigation targeting former Prime Minister Han Myeong-sook, saying, "New state violence crimes that fabricate nonexistent cases like the Han Myeong-sook case and cover them up continue," and "There are cases where investigations are conducted targeting specific individuals, and investigations are carried out for prosecution."

He emphasized, "The law should be the minimum constraint, but now the law is being maximized," and "The standards of the law are being imposed comprehensively everywhere."

He continued, "Those in power restrain the maximization of the law, but the more they do so, the more power abuse intensifies," and "We are currently in such a situation where the investigative and prosecutorial powers, the last bastion of justice, are being used as tools that undermine justice."

Earlier, Lee criticized the prosecution's account tracking of himself and those around him, saying at the end of the Supreme Council meeting held at the National Assembly that morning, "I doubt the prosecution's creativity, but their acting skills seem poor as well."
