[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Taewon] Lee Min-young (30) showed excellent form in the final round of the Japan Ladies Professional Golf Association (JLPGA) Tour season, topping the leaderboard after the completion of the second round.
On the 25th, at the Miyazaki Country Club (par 72) in Japan, Lee Min-young recorded an eagle, five birdies, and one bogey for a 6-under-par 66 in the second round of the JLPGA Tour Ricoh Cup (total prize money 120 million yen). With a total score of 11-under-par 133, she leads alone by three strokes ahead of the group tied for second place.
Starting with a birdie on the 1st hole (par 4), Lee Min-young took the lead and reduced her score by three strokes in the front nine with four birdies and one bogey.
On the 11th hole (par 5), she succeeded in reaching the green in two shots and recorded an eagle, and also made a birdie on the 17th hole (par 4).
Lee Min-young is the only Korean player to have won on the JLPGA this year. She achieved her first victory of the season at the Meiji Cup in Hokkaido last August, marking her sixth career tour win.
Hwang Ah-reum (35), Jeon Mi-jung (40), and Shin Ji-ae (34) are tied for 25th place at even par. Bae Sun-woo (28) is tied for 32nd place with a total score of 2-over-par. Five Korean players participated in this tournament, which is limited to the top 40 players in the season prize money rankings.
