[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Duyul] Korea Housing Finance Corporation (HF) received the grand prize for the first time among quasi-governmental institutions at the ‘21st Information Security Awards’ ceremony held on the 24th at the Kensington Hotel in Yeouido, Seoul.
Now in its 21st year, the ‘Information Security Awards’ is the most prestigious award in the domestic information security field hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT. It aims to raise awareness of information security among companies and encourages voluntary information security practices by selecting and awarding exemplary companies in information security every year.
Since 2021, HF Corporation has been hosting the ‘Cybersecurity Conference’ in Busan, where its headquarters is located, to strengthen regional information security capabilities.
In addition, it has established a dedicated information security department and is actively engaged in its own breach prevention activities, such as building an AI-based security monitoring system.
Choi Jun-woo, President of HF Corporation, said, “For society to advance digitally, finance must change first,” adding, “We will actively introduce technologies such as AI and blockchain, which are key keywords of the 4th Industrial Revolution era, to achieve financial innovation and strengthen cyber security response capabilities, which are core competencies of digital transformation.”
