Although the special committee for the national investigation started with tearful appeals from the bereaved families, prospects suggest the path ahead will not be smooth. First, the People Power Party reversed its position just one day after the agreement and requested to exclude the Supreme Prosecutors' Office from the investigation, which was partially accepted. The Presidential Office has openly expressed dissatisfaction over the inclusion of the National Situation Room and the Crisis Management Center of the National Security Office.
