High Evaluation for Social Bond Issuance and More
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] Lotte Shopping announced on the 25th that it has received an A grade for five consecutive years in the integrated ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) evaluation conducted by the Korea Corporate Governance Service (KCGS).
KCGS is a leading domestic ESG evaluation institution that conducts assessments, research, and investigations on corporate sustainability. Based on non-financial evaluation results in the three areas of Environment (E), Social (S), and Governance (G) for listed companies in Korea, it publishes ESG evaluation grades annually.
In this year's evaluation, Lotte Shopping received excellent ratings in the social sector, earning an A+ grade for ▲establishing human rights policies reflecting global guidelines ▲issuing the industry's first ESG social bonds worth 170 billion KRW ▲laying the foundation for supply chain ESG through the development of partner company codes of conduct and self-assessment checklists.
In the environmental sector, it received an A grade for establishing a 2040 carbon neutrality roadmap and outstanding climate response activities, and in the governance sector, it earned an A grade for establishing an ESG committee and excellent review of non-financial risk agendas, resulting in a final integrated A grade and marking five consecutive years of integrated A grades.
A Lotte Shopping official stated, "Since establishing the foundation for ESG management, we have continuously strived to become a company that creates positive social impact," adding, "We will continue to strengthen sincere communication through various activities in the future."
