[Asia Economy Reporter Chunhee Lee] Daewoong Pet, a pet healthcare company, announced on the 24th that it will launch two types of 'Impactamin Pet' (Impactamin Pet for Dogs, Impactamin Pet for Cats), vitamin products exclusively for pets developed from Daewoong Pharmaceutical's steady-selling supplement 'Impactamin'.

Impactamin Pet, launched to mark the beginning of Daewoong Pet, reflects the characteristics of the high-dose active vitamin Impactamin. Like Impactamin, it contains all eight types of vitamin B (B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B7, B9, B12) in one tablet. Vitamins A, D, E, K, zinc, selenium, and taurine, which may be insufficient from food intake alone, are also included according to the physiological characteristics of dogs and cats. The nutritional components are designed to meet the recommended nutritional standards set by the Association of American Feed Control Officials (AAFCO).

Impactamin Pet is formulated so that a single tablet can support pets' vitality, immunity, eye health, joints, and coat health. The eight types of vitamin B that promote energy metabolism help enhance pet vitality. Selenium, which has antioxidant effects, supports immunity, while vitamin A benefits vision, vitamin D supports joints, and zinc is good for the coat.

Impactamin Pet for Dogs includes vitamin E to protect skin that is prone to aging due to frequent outdoor activities. Impactamin Pet for Cats adds vitamin K and the essential amino acid taurine, which are recommended nutrients for cats by AAFCO. Taurine deficiency can cause vision deterioration and periodontal disease, but since cats cannot produce it themselves, separate intake is recommended.

The company explained that the convenience of administering Impactamin Pet has also been improved. Based on the average weight of small pets at 5 kg, only one tablet needs to be given once a day. Impactamin Pet for Dogs is made in a small chewable form for easy chewing and swallowing. Impactamin Pet for Cats is in capsule form and can be given as a whole capsule. Opening the capsule and mixing the contents with food or snacks makes it even easier to feed.

Daewoong Pet plans to produce products based on the 'Human Standard' criteria, going beyond 'Human Grade,' which uses ingredients safe for human consumption. This standard applies to ingredient selection, production, quality control, and nutritional labeling, aligning with health functional foods for humans. Based on this, not only are premium ingredients safe for human consumption used, but production is carried out in health functional food manufacturing facilities certified by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety, rather than pet food manufacturing facilities. Stricter food quality control standards than those of the Feed Control Act are applied, and all nutritional components are labeled according to the Health Functional Food Labeling Standards Act.
