To Achieve a Dynamic Economy... Yangsan City Holds 'Future Industry Innovation Growth Strategy Meeting'

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Dooyul] Yangsan City, Gyeongnam, held the '2022 Yangsan Future Industry Innovation Growth Strategy Meeting' at 2 p.m. on the 23rd at the Yangsan Business Center Convention Hall.

This event was organized to share the vision and strategy of future industry policies with local companies, business organizations, research institutes, and universities ahead of the full-scale promotion of policies in the future industry sector for dynamic economic achievement.

Mayor Na Dong-yeon directly presented the '9th Yangsan Mayor Future Industry Innovation Growth Vision and Strategy' at the meeting, proposing policy directions and detailed tasks for fostering Yangsan's future industries that he has prepared since taking office.

Mayor Na diagnosed the current situation of Yangsan as a time requiring various efforts and preparations to move from traditional industries to advanced future industries, starting his presentation by posing the question, "Despite Yangsan's rapid development so far, is it a competitive city in the global competition?"

Mayor Na presented the vision for fostering Yangsan's future industries as "Yangsan, a future industry city where dreams are realized through innovation growth," and explained the purpose and content of three major strategies?foundation building, capacity enhancement, and sustainable growth?and 15 detailed tasks to achieve innovation growth.

Subsequently, to support the effectiveness of future industry innovation growth policies, a public-private governance structure was established between Yangsan City and the Yangsan R&BD Institution Council.

Yangsan City is promoting corporate support projects for eight R&BD institutions in the jurisdiction and corporate R&D support infrastructure to be established from next year in the Gasan General Industrial Complex, such as the 'Large and Medium-sized Ship Hybrid Propulsion System Land-based Demonstration Project' and the 'Reuse Battery Applied E-Mobility Industrial Ecosystem Activation Project.'

An official from the city said, "We plan to continue strengthening networking among industrial innovation stakeholders and expanding communication through the 'Future Industry Innovation Growth Strategy Meeting' to create and implement various tasks for innovation growth."
