[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] Ulsan Metropolitan Office of Education will hold a Secondary English Future Education Forum on the 23rd.
Under the theme "Finding the Future Vision of Secondary English Education," this forum will be conducted as a roundtable discussion for English education policy and revitalization, with 37 secondary English school administrators and education professionals attending.
The event will feature a special lecture titled "The Evolution of English Education in the AI Era." The lecture will cover the significance of the one-person-one-digital-device policy promoted by each city and provincial office of education, the utilization of learner management systems, and the reasons and current status of AI-based learning assistance needed in public education.
The Ulsan Office of Education stated, "This forum will provide an opportunity to share perspectives on future English education in the AI era and to discuss English education policies, serving as a chance to consider the direction of secondary English education."
In February, the Office of Education signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with LG CNS to distribute an AI-based English learning program.
Through this agreement, since March, the AI-based English learning program has been provided free of charge to students and teachers at 122 middle and high schools in the district, offering English education services tailored to individual students in an EFL environment.
Additionally, workshops sharing cases of AI-based English learning service class utilization for improving teaching and learning methods through understanding AI education and enhancing personalized English skills for students were held three times in May, September, and November.
In December, a resource book for AI-utilized English classes will be distributed to middle and high schools in the district.
Following this forum, on December 9, the Ulsan Office of Education plans to hold an "English Teacher Talk Show for Deep Communication," with 30 English teachers from the field participating to discuss English education policies needed at schools and to deliberate on next year's project operation plans.
An official from the Office of Education said, "This English education forum will broaden the perspectives of school administrators and education professionals, enhance their understanding of English education policies, and increase their willingness to apply and promote these policies in school settings."
