Reflecting Resident Opinions Presented at the Briefing in the Work Plan After Careful Review
Geochang-gun, Gyeongnam Province is holding an open report meeting inviting residents to present the major administrative work plans.
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Geochang-gun, Gyeongnam Province, has been holding an open report meeting inviting about 100 residents from various sectors at the county office's large conference room for three days from the 21st to the 24th, to present next year's major county administration plans.
The report meeting, presided over by County Governor Goo In-mo, is attended by the vice governor, directors, the Planning and Budget Officer, and heads of 23 related departments. It started with the Administrative Welfare Bureau on the 21st, followed by the Economic Industry Bureau on the 23rd, and the Planning and Budget Office, affiliated institutions, and business offices on the 24th.
The meeting shares the major achievements of the 2022 county administration and the campaign pledges of the 8th elected term with the residents, explains the key projects and new initiatives that Geochang-gun will focus on next year, listens to residents' opinions, and is broadcast live to all residents through Geochang-gun's official YouTube channel to communicate with those who could not attend.
Among the projects prioritized by the county next year, the Administrative Welfare Bureau plans to improve living conditions in the town areas and respond to the crisis of local extinction by promoting the construction of LH rental housing in Buksang and Gabuk-myeon, and establishing the Eoullim Center in Sinwon and Gabuk-myeon.
Additionally, efforts will be made to revitalize the drone industry and establish a foundation by supporting drone experience education fees and providing financial support for drone certification training to cultivate professional drone personnel in the public sector.
Furthermore, the childbirth congratulatory fund will be increased to 5 million KRW regardless of whether it is the first, second, or third child; youth and adolescent allowances will be supported; the Geochang-type community integrated care will be expanded; and a new public dementia-specialized elderly care facility will be constructed, promoting a thorough and robust Geochang-style welfare system.
The Economic Industry Bureau plans to support certification exam fees for young job seekers, promote industrial accident prevention support projects for private workplaces, and carry out maintenance projects for bus stops around urban planning roads, creating a safe and resident-centered living environment.
Moreover, a pilot project for themed street tree pruning and the creation of a canopy walkway at the Anti-Aging Healing Land will provide sightseeing and experiential attractions. The bureau will also establish a basic plan for carbon-neutral green growth in Geochang-gun, striving to realize a sustainable forest tourism and environmentally friendly city created by residents.
The Planning and Budget Office is strengthening a step-by-step response system to win the excellent institution award for joint evaluation of major city and county tasks for five consecutive years. The Agricultural Technology Center plans to expand new income sources for farmers and foster healthy and vibrant agriculture and rural areas by supporting healing agriculture and industry, animal welfare livestock farms, and pilot projects for future-type orchard agricultural robot demonstration models.
The Health Center plans to implement a rotation system for senior citizen centers and establish an emergency medical system in Geochang-gun. The Waterworks Office will install solar panels at the Geochang water purification plant, expand drinking water quality inspections, and conduct transparent disclosure projects. The Sports Facilities Office plans to establish a Disabled Sports Association and operate and build a specialized Geochang Children's Swimming Center. The Geochang Incident Office plans to create a Mugunghwa Road at the memorial park and establish a visitor center.
Governor Goo said, "During the five months of the 8th elected term, we have had meaningful achievements such as the selection of the long-awaited Dongsan Village environmental improvement project and ranking first in transportation environment improvement rate among basic local governments with populations under 100,000 nationwide," adding, "All of this was possible thanks to the residents' support, and I ask for your continued active cooperation."
Geochang-gun plans to carefully review the valuable opinions received from residents attending the report meeting and reflect them in next year's work plans.
