Youth Policy Takes a Big Step Forward ↗ ... Gyeongnam Province and Ministry of Gender Equality Join Hands for Healthy Youth Growth Gyeongsangnam-do and the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to strengthen cooperation on youth policy.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Seryeong] Gyeongsangnam-do signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family on the 21st to strengthen cooperation in youth policy.


The signing ceremony was attended by Governor Park Wan-su, Minister Kim Hyun-sook of the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family, and officials from both organizations.


Prior to the agreement, the province conveyed to the ministry the designation of women-friendly cities in Gimhae, Sacheon, and Geochang, the relaxation of eligibility criteria for independence support allowances for youths leaving shelters, and the revision of laws to strengthen support for out-of-school youths.


On this day, Gyeongnam Province and the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family agreed to assist in promoting youth participation activities and resolving welfare blind spots for at-risk youths.


They plan to join forces in ▲expanding public youth training facilities ▲revitalizing after-school academies ▲strengthening the integrated support system for at-risk youths ▲healing internet and smartphone overdependence ▲expanding professional personnel for youth support projects.


Governor Park said, “The implementation of youth policies by the government and local governments is very important,” adding, “I hope this agreement will serve as an opportunity to upgrade our province’s youth policies to the next level and reflect good programs and policies.”


Minister Kim said, “Since cooperation among the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family, the Office of Education, and local governments is important, we will actively support the healthy growth of youths in the Gyeongnam region through this MOU.”
