Introducing 'Healthy Mushroom Sotbap' with 3 Types of Mushrooms and Greens Plus 6 Grains, and 'Healthy Namul Sotbap'
[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] Ottogi's vegan specialty brand ‘Hello Veggie’ announced on the 22nd that it will launch two types of ‘Healthy Sotbap’ made with plenty of domestically sourced natural ingredients.
The products combine the recently popular dining menu ‘Sotbap’ with the vegetarian trend to create convenient meals, consisting of two types: △Healthy Mushroom Sotbap △Healthy Vegetable Sotbap. The advantage is that the usually cumbersome preparation and cooking process of Sotbap can be easily completed using only a microwave.
Healthy Sotbap is made by adding six types of grains (rice, barley, oats, brown rice, black rice, glutinous rice) to three types of mushrooms or vegetables, using all nine main ingredients domestically sourced. It has received vegan certification from the UK’s ‘Vegan Society,’ the world’s oldest vegan organization, and focuses on health with a low-sugar and high-dietary fiber design.
The new product ‘Healthy Mushroom Sotbap’ includes three types of mushrooms?shiitake, king oyster, and oyster mushrooms?along with root vegetables to enhance the chewy texture, while ‘Healthy Vegetable Sotbap’ contains three types of vegetables?gondre, radish greens, and aster scaber?with a fragrant perilla flavor added. Both products use rich kelp broth and are cooked using a traditional cauldron direct-fire method, providing a fluffy texture and savory flavor. Sesame oil is included with the mushroom Sotbap, and perilla oil with the vegetable Sotbap, allowing consumers to add according to their preference.
An Ottogi representative said, “As interest in a healthy lifestyle extends to food, demand for vegan products is increasing,” and added, “We plan to continuously introduce vegan convenience foods through the vegan specialty brand Hello Veggie that can be enjoyed not only by vegetarians but also by general consumers without burden.”
