[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] CJ OliveNetworks announced on the 22nd that it has officially launched ‘Bridge Office,’ a metaverse (extended virtual world)-based communication service.
Bridge Office is a communication service developed to enable participants to have fun and meaningful interactions in a metaverse environment. CJ OliveNetworks developed Bridge Office using its own technology and know-how to more effectively support various working styles of companies in the COVID-19 environment.
Bridge Office provides differentiated services such as fast decision-making, collaboration among members, and work immersion through horizontal and free communication even in non-face-to-face work environments, targeting MZ generation (Millennials + Generation Z) employees who account for 60% of major domestic company employees.
The feature of Bridge Office is that it realistically implements spaces where employees actually work, such as offices, meeting rooms, auditoriums, and lobbies, providing users with a familiar yet unique work environment. Users can also communicate through animal characters and check work compatibility through colleagues’ MBTI.
The ‘Bridge Room,’ which can be used according to various meeting purposes, supports essential functions for untact work environments such as video conferencing, voting for quick decision-making, and opinion cards. Members’ opinions are digitized and can be downloaded as Excel files, and a whiteboard is also supported for idea brainstorming.
The ‘Conference Hall’ can host various types of events ranging from small social activities to employee training, seminars, and large-scale events. Audience members can communicate with the host anytime through hand-raising or chat, and networking activities can be enjoyed in the lobby connected to the conference hall before and after events.
Bridge Office conducted a pilot open targeting CJ CheilJedang, CJ Foodville, and others, and supplemented functions by reflecting various feedback from client companies. From early next month, the official service will be provided to CJ Telenix and will be used for communication with telecommuters, employee training, and internal events. It plans to enhance employees’ work stability through psychological counseling and training programs for call center counselors via Bridge Office.
Jinha Lee, head of the Metaverse Business Team at CJ OliveNetworks, said, “Bridge Office is a human-touch metaverse service that solves issues of isolation or alienation that can occur in non-face-to-face environments and provides immersion and a sense of belonging to members.” He added, “We plan to expand the service to inter-company connections and industry-academia collaborations in the future.”
