[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] Yoo Seung-min, a former lawmaker and a ruling party presidential candidate, has been emphasizing the need for a game changer in response to the escalating North Korean nuclear provocations. He has stressed that the redeployment of tactical nuclear weapons could be a 'game changer' in countering North Korea's nuclear threat.

On the 21st, Yoo urged the redeployment of tactical nuclear weapons through his social network service (SNS), stating, "The time for a fundamental change in the Yoon Seok-yeol administration's defense strategy has already passed."

He said, "Throughout the five years of the Moon Jae-in administration, both South Korea and the United States were thoroughly deceived by Kim Jong-un's 'denuclearization lies.' Far from denuclearization, North Korea has completed preparations to attack anytime and anywhere with nuclear missiles," adding, "While the diplomatic efforts of South Korea and the U.S. to urge North Korea's denuclearization and China's role are understandable, now is the time to quickly secure a game changer that deters North Korea's nuclear provocations with 'nuclear for nuclear,' even if diplomatic efforts are made outwardly."

Yoo stated, "The day before yesterday, Kim Jong-un, General Secretary of the Workers' Party, held his child's hand in front of an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) launcher capable of taking countless lives and said 'nuclear for nuclear' as if it were someone else's business," adding, "'Nuclear for nuclear' is what the Republic of Korea, helplessly suffering from Kim Jong-un's nuclear threats, must say."

On the 19th, he also said on SNS, "'Nuclear for nuclear' is a phrase that the Republic of Korea, not Kim Jong-un, must say," and warned, "If we fail to secure a game changer, we can never protect our people and country in the nuclear game."
