[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Wook] Uiryeong-gun, Gyeongnam Province, is traveling across the country to provide consultations for those wishing to return to farming or rural living.

Uiryeong-gun will participate in the "2022 Busan Organic, Eco-friendly, Return-to-Farming and Rural Living Expo," held for four days from the 24th to the 27th at BEXCO in Busan, offering on-site promotion and consultations targeting urban residents interested in returning to farming or rural living. This year, Uiryeong-gun has operated a total of four on-site return-to-farming and rural living consultations in Changwon, Seoul, Jinju, and other locations, with Busan serving as the final stop for this year's consultation tour.

The expo at Busan BEXCO promotes organic and eco-friendly products, local specialties, agricultural products, return-to-farming and rural living, and urban agriculture. Uiryeong-gun will operate a booth to provide information on support policies and promote return-to-farming and rural living in the region.

In particular, at this expo, Uiryeong-gun plans to actively promote and provide consultations by collaborating with the Return-to-Farming and Rural Living Research Association to offer comprehensive and local information to urban residents interested in returning to farming or rural living, aiming to raise awareness and interest.

A county official stated, "We are operating on-site promotion and consultation booths in various regions such as Seoul, Busan, Changwon, and Jinju to promote return-to-farming and rural living. We hope these efforts will assist urban residents who wish to return to farming or rural living in planning their transition."

Uiryeong-gun has actively attracted return-to-farming and rural living households every year and implemented various policies. As of the third quarter of this year, 782 households totaling 1,134 people have returned to farming or rural living, with the number of young returnees steadily increasing.
