[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Sumi] Recently, a series of theft incidents targeting luxury goods from the French brand Louis Vuitton have occurred. Following the disappearance of luxury bags displayed at a store in Washington State, USA, the residence of Louis Vuitton's heir has now become the target of thieves.

According to the New York Post, Beno?t-Louis Vuitton (45) was robbed of luxury watches, jewelry, bags, and more on the 14th (local time) in an upscale residential area in the 7th arrondissement of Paris, France. As the sixth-generation descendant of the founder of Louis Vuitton, he is currently responsible for managing the brand's art, culture, and heritage.

At the time of the incident, Beno?t-Louis Vuitton was believed to be in New York, USA, so his Paris residence was likely unoccupied. The exact amount of damage has not been disclosed, but local media reported it is estimated to be worth at least several hundred million Korean won. Notably, the stolen items reportedly included products not yet released by Louis Vuitton. Police authorities stated to the media, "The investigation is currently ongoing," and "A special task force dedicated to anti-crime organizations is handling the case."

High-end brand Louis Vuitton's goods have long been targets of thieves and counterfeiters. On the 8th, three masked thieves broke into a Louis Vuitton store at Bellevue Square in Washington State, USA.

According to the UK's Daily Star, these thieves were teenagers belonging to a retail theft gang. They snatched bags displayed in the store and fled. During the escape, one thief mistook a transparent glass window for an exit, ran into it, fainted, and was caught by the police. The other two hesitated briefly before leaving the scene. The bags stolen by these thieves were reported to be worth a total of $18,000 (approximately 24.17 million KRW).
