Autonomous Robot 'NewBee' Wins CES 2023 Innovation Award

CES Innovation Award Winner in the Smart City Category

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] Newbility (CEO Lee Sang-min) announced on the 18th that its autonomous driving robot 'NewBee' won the CES 2023 Smart City Innovation Award. The CES Innovation Awards are presented annually by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA) in the United States to products worldwide that demonstrate outstanding technology and innovation.

NewBee is a robot developed to enable stable autonomous driving even in urban environments. Instead of expensive LiDAR sensors, it is designed based on multi-cameras and artificial intelligence to accurately estimate its position even in densely built urban areas. Through two years of research and development, it has secured competitiveness comparable to LiDAR-based autonomous driving technology, bringing it closer to full-scale commercialization.

Newbility has been conducting pilot projects in representative urban environments such as Seoul and Songdo since last year, based on NewBee's advanced technology and marketability. It is also preparing to launch a delivery robot commercialization service targeting major golf courses nationwide within this year.
