Providing Valuable Travel Opportunities for People with Disabilities and Low-Income Vulnerable Groups
[Goheung=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Shim Jeong-woo] Goheung-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that it is recruiting participants for the ‘Tourism Vulnerable Group Happy Travel Activity Support Project,’ which provides travel activity expenses for vulnerable groups who have difficulty traveling due to various constraints, until the 30th.
This project supports tourism welfare for vulnerable groups who have difficulty engaging in tourism activities due to physical and economic conditions by providing 150,000 KRW per person to low-income groups and travel activity expenses worth 300,000 KRW including one companion for disabled persons with mobility difficulties.
The travel products are one-day travel packages operated from November 26 to December 14, and participants can apply directly for one of the four travel products (two for low-income groups, two for disabled persons) selected through a travel agency contest.
Applicants must be tourism vulnerable groups aged 6 or older registered as residents in Goheung-gun as of the announcement date (basic livelihood security recipients and near-poverty groups). A total of 297 people, including 36 disabled persons and 261 low-income individuals, will be recruited on a first-come, first-served basis.
A county official said, “We hope that residents who have had difficulty traveling due to physical and economic conditions will find an opportunity to heal and regain vitality through this happy travel with beautiful Namdo tourist attractions and food. We will continue to strive to prepare various programs to realize tourism welfare for vulnerable groups.”
