Mokpo Maritime Police Officer Lee Jaehyun Responds Swiftly in Emergency Situation
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] It was recently revealed that a coast guard officer witnessed a car accident on his way home from work and rescued a man in his 60s who was in a critical situation, warming the hearts of those around him.
The protagonist of this good deed is Police Officer Lee Jaehyun (29) from the Jindo Police Substation of the Mokpo Coast Guard, and his act of kindness was shared with others through a fellow colleague working with him.
According to the Mokpo Coast Guard, Officer Lee witnessed a car accident around 1:30 p.m. on the 9th while leaving work, where a vehicle had collided with a wall inside a shopping mall parking lot in the Yonghae-dong area of Mokpo City.
Officer Lee immediately ran to the scene and found the driver, Mr. A (male, in his 60s), inside the running vehicle. He quickly got into the car through the passenger seat, turned off the ignition, and safely rescued Mr. A.
Mr. A was transported to a nearby hospital by the 119 emergency medical team that arrived at the scene, and his health condition is reported to be stable.
Officer Lee said, “Thanks to my experience, education, and training in rescue situations while working at the police substation, I was able to respond calmly even in an emergency,” adding, “I will continue to be a coast guard officer who dedicates and serves the public.”
Meanwhile, Officer Lee Jaehyun was appointed as a coast guard officer in November of last year and is currently doing his best in his duties at the Jindo Police Substation of the Mokpo Coast Guard to ensure maritime security and public safety.
