Earlier, on the 9th, the Democratic Party of Korea had decided to cut the entire Police Bureau budget during the Public Administration and Security Committee's Budget and Accounts Subcommittee (Budget Subcommittee), but Lee Chae-ik, the committee chairman from the People Power Party, postponed the discussion to this day, stating the day before that "no agreement was reached between the ruling and opposition parties" and did not present the budget proposal.
The budget for issuing local love gift certificates, known as the 'Lee Jae-myung budget,' which had been completely cut in next year's government budget proposal, was restored to 705 billion KRW, the same as this year, under the leadership of the Democratic Party in the Budget Subcommittee, but was approved at 500 billion KRW on this day, about 200 billion KRW less.
