[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyesook] The '2022 Incheon International Design Fair (INDEF)' opened on the 17th at the Rebus Gallery in the Mikael Hall of Incheon Catholic University Songdo International Campus, kicking off a three-day schedule.
This international design event looks at Incheon's complex environmental and social issues from a design perspective to find alternatives. It is hosted by Incheon City and jointly organized by Incheon Technopark (Incheon TP), Incheon Design Enterprise Association, and Incheon Industrial Design Association.
The theme of the event is 'Industry, Environment, and Sustainable City Incheon Thought through Design!' On this day, the opening ceremony was held following a congratulatory performance, awards for contributors to the development of the design industry, and the design idea contest awards ceremony.
Until the 19th, the event features various spaces and programs such as the Theme Pavilion, Corporate Pavilion, University Pavilion & Emerging Artists Exhibition, International Exchange Exhibition, and Design Concert, where visitors can experience the design achievements and works of companies, schools, and institutions in the Incheon area. Admission is free for everyone.
An official from Incheon TP stated, "You can find design concepts on various themes that identify and overcome the environmental pollution problems faced by Incheon," adding, "It is establishing itself as a specialized design event that provides diverse attractions to citizens."
