[Jangseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jo Hangyu] Jangseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 17th that it will accept applications for next year's organic fertilizer support project until the 8th of next month.
Organic fertilizer made from organic by-products composted into manure is an eco-friendly fertilizer that improves soil quality and increases organic matter content.
Eligibility to apply is limited to farmland registered in the agricultural management entity registration information. Applicants must write the type of fertilizer to be used next year, supply timing, supplier, and quantity on the application form and submit it to the eup/myeon administrative welfare center where the farmland is located.
The supported fertilizers include three types: mixed oil cake, mixed organic matter, and organic compound fertilizer, and two types of matured organic fertilizer. Support is provided at 1,600 KRW per 20 kg bag, with matured organic fertilizer receiving differential support ranging from 1,300 to 1,600 KRW.
If Jangseong farmers purchase local livestock manure compost, they can receive triple support from national funds, county funds, and Nonghyup support. The support amount can increase up to 2,000 KRW per 20 kg.
County Governor Kim Hanjong said, "Through the organic fertilizer support project, we aim to reduce the management burden on farms and increase the quality and yield of agricultural products," adding, "We will continue active support for agricultural development."
