Curly Launches 'Dumari 99 Chicken' Capturing Price and Taste in High Inflation Era

[Asia Economy Reporter Jeon Jinyoung] Kurly announced on the 17th that it will launch ‘Dumari 99 Chicken,’ allowing customers to enjoy its signature dining-out menu item, chicken, without burden.

Dumari 99 Chicken is a Market Kurly private brand product that sells two retro-style old-fashioned chickens for 9,900 won. Without the need to visit large supermarkets in person, customers can conveniently order from home and receive next-day delivery via Saetbyeol Delivery.

The biggest strength of the newly launched chicken is its excellent cost-effectiveness. Considering the wallet burden caused by rising dining-out prices, Kurly offers two domestic chickens sized 55-ho (500~550g) for less than 10,000 won. Market Kurly plans to sell a limited quantity of 1,000 sets daily from 6 PM every day.

Dumari 99 Chicken achieves a light taste without greasy residue through a cooking method that first roasts the chicken in an oven and then refrys it in special oil. The batter, made with added corn starch, enhances crispiness, and rapid freezing locks in the juices while doubling the chewy texture. Kurly devoted great effort to the product launch by directly managing the entire process from chicken brining, aging, cooking, packaging, to logistics.
