Gyeongnam Hamyang-gun held a report meeting on measures to collect overdue local taxes and non-tax revenues.
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Hamyang-gun, Gyeongnam announced on the 17th that it held a local tax and non-tax revenue delinquency collection countermeasure briefing session attended by 21 people, presided over by the head of the Hamyang-gun Finance Division, in the large conference room of the county office.
At the briefing session, they discussed the status of local tax and non-tax revenue collection and delinquency as of the end of October, causes and issues of delinquency by department, major initiatives so far, management of high-amount delinquents, and measures to improve the collection rate of carried-over delinquent amounts.
The county plans to operate a special delinquency settlement period until December 31, during which various collection activities will be continuously carried out to improve the delinquency collection rate, including sending delinquency notices, encouraging installment payments, seizing deposits, seizing real estate and vehicles, activities related to automobile license plates, and public auctions for chronic delinquents.
Park Yun-ho, head of the Finance Division, said, “Although the number of individuals (business operators) with difficulty in payment ability is increasing due to the prolonged COVID-19 economic slowdown, we ask the delinquency officers to actively carry out collection activities to secure local tax revenue and expand independent financial resources.”
