Launch of Publishing Brand 'Awake Books', Offering Economic Management and Self-Development Books for Adults
MKYU (MK&You University), an online knowledge education platform operated by MKUniverse Co., Ltd. (CEO Kim Mi-kyung), is entering the book publishing business starting with the release of "Web 3.0 Next Economy" scheduled for November 30.
Since the platform's launch in September 2021, MKYU, led by instructor Kim Mi-kyung, has provided online educational content in various categories such as ▲Digital & Future Trends ▲Small Business ▲Money & Finance ▲Self-Development ▲Hobbies to 160,000 people. Through this new publishing venture, MKUniverse plans to discover and promote more high-quality content not only through online lectures but also in the form of standalone books.
The publishing brand name "Awake Books" reflects the intention to present books that, like the English word "awake," break through inner laziness, low self-esteem, fear, and the desire to give up, helping readers encounter a new world. The focus will primarily be on publishing books in the fields of economics, business management, and self-development aimed at adult readers.
The first publication from Awake Books, "Web 3.0 Next Economy," is a general knowledge book that introduces Web 3.0?the technology poised to completely transform our lives in the near future?in the easiest and most friendly way. It covers all concepts necessary to understand Web 3.0, from core technologies like NFTs and blockchain to communities, content, law, and ethics, while also offering readers thought-provoking insights on how to seize opportunities in the entirely new economic ecosystem.
The book features contributions from eight of South Korea’s top experts: futurist and IT convergence specialist Ji-hoon Jung (Professor at Daegu Gyeongbuk Institute of Science and Technology, DGIST), digital tech expert Dong-hyung Shin (Head of Strategic Planning at RSUPPORT), cryptography and cybersecurity expert Seung-joo Kim (Professor at Korea University Graduate School of Information Security), metaverse and AI expert Seung-hwan Lee (Head of Metaverse Research Team at Software Policy & Research Institute), blockchain community builder Erica Kang (CEO of Crypto Seoul), digital content expert Joon-tak Yoon (IT columnist), blockchain investment expert Shin-hye Lee (Partner at global crypto fund GBIC), and digital ethics expert Heon-young Kwon (Professor at Korea University Graduate School of Information Security).
MKUniverse has organized an in-house publishing TFT team experienced in planning, editing, production, distribution, and marketing processes. From 2023 onward, the company plans to accelerate its publishing business through not only turning popular MKYU classes into books but also actively collaborating with domestic and international authors.
