Coway Installs Solar Power Plant as Part of ESG Management Initiative

Installation of Solar Power Plant on the Rooftop of Subsidiary Iobed Building

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] Coway (CEO Lee Hae-seon and Seo Jang-won) announced on the 16th that it will install a solar power plant on the rooftop of its subsidiary Iobed's building located in Paju-si, Gyeonggi-do. Coway is constructing a solar power plant with a capacity of about 800kWh on the rooftop of its subsidiary Iobed's building and plans to start operation in the first half of next year.


Coway is collaborating with Sinseong ENG, a first-generation domestic solar power company, to carry out the construction and operation management of this solar power plant. Currently, Coway has installed and operates solar power plants at Yugu Factory (49.5kWh capacity), Incheon Factory (39kWh capacity), Pocheon Factory (45kWh capacity), and Yugu Logistics Center (1048.8kWh capacity).

Coway plans to continuously strengthen its ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management activities by minimizing greenhouse gas emissions through the use of renewable energy such as solar power and reducing negative environmental impacts.


A Coway official stated, "Once the installation of this solar power plant is completed, it is expected to reduce about 470 tons of carbon annually," adding, "We will continue to act responsibly as a leading eco-friendly company in Korea and carry out various activities that benefit the environment."
