[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Sehee] It has been confirmed that former People Power Party leader Lee Jun-seok was questioned by the police on the 15th in relation to the case in which he sued the YouTube channel Garosero Research Institute (Gaseyeon), which raised allegations that he received sexual bribery. This comes 11 months after he filed the lawsuit against Gaseyeon.

According to a compilation of Asia Economy's coverage on the 16th, former leader Lee appeared at the Gangnam Police Station in the afternoon of the previous day and underwent questioning as the complainant. This is the first time Lee has appeared before the police for questioning regarding the lawsuit against Gaseyeon.

The police had repeatedly requested Lee to appear, but his side had postponed the schedule until he suddenly decided to appear the day before. Lee filed a complaint with the police in December last year against Gaseyeon for violating the Information and Communications Network Act (defamation by false information).

On December 27 of last year, Gaseyeon raised allegations through a YouTube broadcast that Lee received sexual services from Kim Sung-jin, CEO of iKist, at a hotel in Daejeon in 2013, citing investigation materials from the Daejeon District Prosecutors' Office as evidence.

The Anti-Corruption and Public Crime Investigation Unit of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency forwarded Lee, who sued Gaseyeon last month claiming the sexual bribery allegations against him were false, on charges of false accusation. At that time, the police concluded that Lee filed the lawsuit with the intent of criminally prosecuting Gaseyeon officials, despite knowing that the sexual bribery allegations were not false.
