Sang-geun Lee, Governor of Goseong County, Gyeongnam, inspected the construction site of the Bandabi Sports and Culture Center.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Song Jong-gu] Lee Sang-geun, the governor of Goseong-gun, Gyeongnam, inspected the construction site of the Bandabi Sports and Culture Center in Goseong-gun (around 90 Giwol-ri, Goseong-eup) on the 15th.

The Bandabi Sports and Culture Center, an integrated sports facility where people with and without disabilities can enjoy together, was selected in 2019 through a public contest for the installation of community sports facilities. After design competitions and detailed design in 2020, construction began in July 2021.

A total of 9.7 billion KRW, including national funds, will be invested, and the facility will be built with a total floor area of 2,775.69㎡, consisting of one basement floor and two above-ground floors.

The first floor above ground will house a gymnasium, a Happiness Cafe and lobby, a fitness room, and a multipurpose exercise room (aquatic). The second floor will include group rooms, two club rooms, two community rooms, two multipurpose rooms, and offices, forming a lifestyle culture center that plans to offer various programs for people with disabilities.

The governor told the site officials, "Please ensure opportunities for people with disabilities to participate in sports activities and make this a community-oriented sports facility that all residents can conveniently use."

He added to the construction site manager, "Please prioritize quality control and safety management during the winter season and do your best to complete the project on schedule without any setbacks."
