Geochang-gun Holds Meeting with Industry Representatives to Promote Tourist Taxi Service

Collecting Various Opinions on Tourism Routes and Festival Connections Throughout Every Corner

Gyeongnam Geochang-gun is holding a meeting with industry representatives to promote tourist taxis.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] On the 14th, Geochang-gun, Gyeongnam Province held a meeting with representatives of the taxi industry to promote the 2023 Geochang Tourist Taxi Project at the SangSang Life Culture Center conference room.

At the meeting, Jo Ho-kyung, head of the Culture and Tourism Division, along with taxi industry officials attended, and the agenda proceeded with a report on the 2022 Geochang Tourist Taxi operation results followed by collecting opinions for the 2023 project promotion.

The Geochang Tourist Taxi project is a newly launched initiative this year aimed at enhancing transportation convenience for tourists visiting Geochang and revitalizing tourism in the area. The county subsidizes 50% of the taxi fare, which is set by time, and assigns users to the Geochang Tourist Taxi drivers who have received customer service and tourism guidance training.

During the meeting, opinions from taxi officials were gathered regarding the use of tourist taxis for hikers and the recruitment methods for tourist taxi drivers in 2023, as well as other suggestions.

Based on the meeting, a detailed plan for the 2023 project will be established, and recruitment of 2023 Geochang Tourist Taxi drivers is scheduled for November.

Jo Ho-kyung, head of the Culture and Tourism Division, stated, “Although the Geochang Tourist Taxi project is still in its infancy, word of mouth is gradually spreading and the number of users is increasing. We will reflect the valuable opinions from today’s meeting and strive to create a synergistic effect between the tourist taxi industry and Geochang tourism.”
