Changnyeong-gun Promotes Safety Inspections of Major Tourist Facilities and Others

Raising Awareness of Consecutive Major Accidents and Preventing Winter Fires

Gyeongnam Changnyeong-gun conducted a safety inspection of local tourist facilities and registered camping sites operating as tourist accommodation businesses.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Wook] Changnyeong-gun, Gyeongnam recently conducted safety inspections of major tourist facilities such as Bugok Oncheon, Santokki Norae Dongsan, and Upo Wetland Ecological Experience Center, as well as registered campgrounds operating as tourist facilities.

The safety inspections were promoted to raise awareness following consecutive major accidents such as the Itaewon incident in Seoul and the Daegu agricultural and marine products market fire, and to prevent safety accidents including winter fires.

The county focused on inspecting fire preparedness such as firefighting equipment and evacuation routes, installation and operation of gas safety devices, and building safety management to ensure tourist safety.

A county official stated, “With recent major accidents occurring one after another, interest in safety is more concentrated than ever. We will continuously conduct safety inspections to ensure that no accidents occur in the county.”
