[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-ju] Dong-A Socio Holdings promoted Choi Ho-jin, president of Dong-A Pharmaceutical, to vice chairman on the 14th, along with other executive promotions.
Vice Chairman Choi, born in 1966, graduated from Sogang University with a degree in Business Administration. He served as head of the advertising team, head of the communications office, and head of the marketing office at Dong-A Pharmaceutical before becoming president in 2016.
Baek Sang-hwan, former head of the management planning office at Dong-A Socio Holdings, was appointed president of Dong-A Pharmaceutical. Born in 1972, Baek graduated from Korea University with a degree in Western History. He served as head of the management planning team and management planning office at Dong-A Pharmaceutical and was head of the management planning office at Dong-A Socio Holdings last year.

Marketing expert Vice Chairman Choi and management expert President Baek are expected to work together to secure growth engines by expanding Dong-A Pharmaceutical’s business into health functional foods, cosmetics, and discovering new businesses.
A Dong-A Socio Holdings official explained, "Vice Chairman Choi was promoted in recognition of his achievements in the external growth and organizational culture improvement of Dong-A Pharmaceutical," adding, "President Baek has worked to strengthen the group’s business competitiveness and will contribute to enhancing Dong-A Pharmaceutical’s growth competitiveness through this appointment."
