[Jangseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jo Hangyu] Jangseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 14th that it will hold the 21st Century Jangseong Academy by inviting Nam Seonghyeon, the head of the Korea Forest Service, at the small theater of Jangseong Culture and Arts Center on the 17th.
This lecture, under the theme "Forest Renaissance Opened with the People," conveys advanced country-type forest revival methods to respond to rapidly changing times such as low growth, aging population, and climate crisis.
Since the Korean War, our forests, which were devastated, have risen to a level exceeding the OECD country average through the efforts of the entire nation. Today, they have established themselves as valuable resources providing various environmental and social values.
Through this lecture, Head Nam Seonghyeon aims to explore together the path to a "Forest Renaissance Era" where not only forest owners and foresters but all citizens can enjoy a prosperous life through scientific forest management.
The 21st Century Jangseong Academy, operating for 28 years this year, is the world's longest-running social education program and is held every first and third Thursday of the month.
Participation is possible by first-come, first-served admission or online reservation through the Jangseong-gun website, and it can also be attended via live broadcast on Jangseong-gun's official YouTube channel held simultaneously with the academy.
