Garden Expansion, Additional School Establishment Plans... Attention on 'Forena Jeju Edu City' Amid Jeju English International City Growth

As Jeju English Education City accelerates efforts to fill enrollment quotas and establish additional schools, expectations for the surrounding area are growing.

Jeju English Education City is one of the core projects of Jeju International Free City, initiated to address social and economic issues such as foreign currency outflow caused by the increase in overseas study among elementary, middle, and high school students since the 2000s.

Currently, four international schools are located there: Korea International School Jeju Campus (KIS), St. John's Beria Academy Jeju (SJA), North London Collegiate School Jeju (NLCS), and Branksome Hall Asia (BHA). Notably, in April this year, KIS produced its first Harvard University admittee among its graduates, gaining a reputation for consistent achievements.

Consequently, the popularity of international schools within Jeju English Education City is soaring. Especially recently, due to the impact of COVID-19, the advantage of being safer than studying abroad and the ability to care for children nearby have increased interest and admission inquiries. In fact, it has been reported that some schools have waiting lists of up to 100 applicants.

In fact, Jeju English Education City signed an additional MOU in August this year to establish more international schools. This is the third such agreement following two MOUs signed last year with renowned international schools in Europe and the United States. Furthermore, on the 5th of this month, the Jeju Provincial Council's standing committee conditionally approved a change in the shared property management plan to expand KIS's elementary school facilities, accelerating progress.

As a result, the area around Jeju English Education City is attracting attention due to anticipated population inflow, regional economic revitalization, and rising real estate values.

Meanwhile, in Daejeong-eup, Seogwipo City, Jeju, located just a 5-minute drive from Jeju English Education City, Hanwha Construction Division is conducting first-come, first-served sales of 'Forena Jeju Edu City.'

Forena Jeju Edu City offers various financial conditions that reduce the burden on buyers while benefiting from the expansion of Jeju English Education City. The complex provides a fixed contract deposit of 10 million KRW, full interest-free benefits on interim payments, and allows resale.

Lee Joong-seok, Sales Director of Hanwha Construction Division, stated, "There is interest not only from residents sending their children to international schools but also from investors aiming to generate annual income through the abundant demand for international schools. The various financial benefits help both actual buyers and investors reduce financial risk, which has resulted in steady foot traffic at the model house where first-come, first-served contracts are underway."

Forena Jeju Edu City is a large-scale apartment complex in Daejeong-eup, Seogwipo City, consisting of 29 buildings ranging from one basement floor to five above-ground floors, with a total of 503 units sized between 84 and 210 square meters. The complex boasts a pleasant living environment, especially with landscaping designed over approximately 36,000 square meters (about 3.4 times the grass area of Seogwipo World Cup Stadium), securing a landscaping ratio of over 40%. Additionally, the complex is planned as a park-style eco-town with no cars on the ground level.

Within the complex, four community facilities including a park community and sunken community are arranged considering residents' movement paths. Various amenities such as 'Merry Kids Ground' (themed playground), 'Play Ground' (children's playground), and 'Resident Fitness Facilities' (fitness center) are also provided.

Various community facilities (Club Forena) enhancing residents' convenience are also noteworthy. Club Forena is located in the center of the complex, spanning three floors from basement level 1 to the 2nd floor, and will include a GX room, golf training center, small library & book caf?, reading room, guest house, study rooms, laundry caf?, daycare center, Forena preschool, and senior citizens' center.
