[Asia Economy Reporter Chunhee Lee] Huem&c announced on the 14th that its consolidated financial statements for the third quarter of this year showed sales of 13.63688 billion KRW and operating profit of 1.06648 billion KRW, representing increases of 273% and 5876% respectively compared to the same period last year.
The company cited the acquisition of Hubena in April, which diversified its business portfolio including Glass (ampoules, vials) and Cosmetics (puffs, sponges), as the main factor for the sales increase. The Glass segment recorded 7.5 billion KRW, up 21% year-on-year due to sales growth of ampoules and vials. The Cosmetics segment recorded 2.7 billion KRW, down 21% year-on-year. Operating profit temporarily declined due to legal and accounting costs related to re-listing for resuming trading.
Its subsidiary Blossom Story also achieved sales of 3.3 billion KRW in the third quarter, supported by the success of anticipated works such as 'Mobeom Hyeongsa 2' (Model Detective 2).
Huem&c plans to continue its sales growth trend in the fourth quarter through sustained growth via exports.
