[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Chaeseok] Samsung Engineering announced on the 14th that it will participate in the future nuclear clean hydrogen national industrial complex development project and provide infrastructure for energy conversion technologies such as clean hydrogen water electrolysis. The company plans to advance production, storage, and transportation technologies, which are key elements for the successful transition to hydrogen energy.

Samsung Engineering revealed that on the 11th, it signed a "Nuclear Clean Hydrogen Industry Promotion Memorandum of Understanding" with Uljin County, Gyeongsangbuk-do. The signing ceremony, held at Samsung Engineering's headquarters in Sangil-dong GEC (Global Engineering Center), was attended by Samsung Engineering President Choi Seong-an and Uljin County Governor Son Byeong-bok, among others.

Following the agreement, Samsung Engineering plans to collaborate with Uljin County on ▲participation in the Uljin Nuclear Hydrogen National Industrial Complex development project ▲development of 'Power to X' technologies such as nuclear-powered clean hydrogen water electrolysis and infrastructure construction. Power to X refers to technology that converts surplus energy into other forms of energy for storage.

The "Nuclear Hydrogen National Industrial Complex development project" planned by Uljin County and the "Large-scale Clean Hydrogen Production Demonstration Complex development project" are expected to gain momentum thanks to this agreement.

President Choi said, "This agreement is a model case of public-private cooperation to revitalize the clean hydrogen industry," and added, "We will advance Samsung Engineering's hydrogen production, storage, and transportation technologies to contribute to the nuclear-based clean hydrogen business."

Samsung Engineering is accelerating technology acquisition and business development in the hydrogen and ammonia sectors. Under its banner as a "Green Solution Provider," the company is securing technologies through partnerships with domestic and international companies and expanding business opportunities through major overseas clients. In particular, through the Malaysian clean hydrogen production and import joint project "H2biscus," it plans to contribute to the activation of the domestic hydrogen economy and the achievement of carbon neutrality goals. On the 9th, it also signed a "West Coast Clean Ammonia Supply Chain Establishment Memorandum of Understanding" with domestic private and public companies.
