Ulleung County Governor from South Korea Visits National Assembly... Requests Budget Inclusion and Updates on North Korean Provocations

Ulleung County Governor from South Korea Visits National Assembly... Requests Budget Inclusion and Updates on North Korean Provocations On the 10th, Namhangwon, the governor of Ulleung County, visited the National Assembly to propose local pending projects to Congressman Kim Byung-wook and to secure the budget for the next year.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kyungho Ahn] On the 10th, Nam Han-kwon, the governor of Ulleung-gun, Gyeongbuk, visited the National Assembly to propose issues related to problems that arose during the Ulleungdo air raid alert in response to North Korean provocations and to secure next year's budget.

He met with Representative Kim Byung-wook (Pohang Nam·Ulleung) and requested the enactment of the "Special Act for Supporting Ulleungdo and Dokdo," the extension of Ulleung Airport runway, the installation of the third phase of Sadong Port in Ulleung, the construction of underground shelter facilities and parking lots through the complexification of school facilities, and the expansion of National Assembly support for the sewage treatment plant, urging the reflection of these in next year's National Assembly budget.

He also proposed the transfer of management of Jukdo, an Ulleung-gun affiliated island currently managed as national forest, despite its high potential for tourism resource utilization, and took time to discuss development promotion plans and mutual cooperation.

Governor Nam said, "The proposals made at the national policy briefing attended by the President on the 28th of last month became an opportunity to confirm these issues due to the recent North Korean provocations," adding, "We will continue to resolve them through ongoing consultations."
