[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Jeonnam Fire Headquarters (Chief Kim Joil) announced on the 11th that it conducted job training to improve the investigative capabilities of special fire judicial police at the Happy Mom Training Center in Yeongam-gun.
A total of 49 special fire judicial police officers from 20 fire stations in the province participated.
Currently, 159 special judicial police officers are appointed at the Fire Headquarters and fire stations, responsible for investigating violations of seven laws related to fire, including the Fire Services Act.
This training invited instructors from the Jeonnam Provincial Police Agency, who are well-versed in investigations in related fields and active as various education instructors, to provide practical education on investigation practices, including understanding laws, step-by-step investigation procedures, and techniques to be practically helpful.
Additionally, through Q&A sessions, discussions, and sharing of investigation cases among participants, the training aimed to promote consistency and provide opportunities to supplement deficiencies. In particular, there was a focused discussion on investigation techniques regarding offenders who obstruct fire activities, such as assaulting paramedics.
Lee Gwansub, Director of the Response and Prevention Division, said, “Please ensure thoroughness in special judicial police work with strict law enforcement, zero tolerance, and fair principles regarding fire-related offenses,” and added, “I hope you will become experts responsible for the safety of the residents by improving your investigative capabilities.”
