On the 11th, Samsung SDI held a business agreement ceremony for nurturing battery talent at the Natural Science Campus of Sungkyunkwan University in Suwon, Gyeonggi Province, attended by Yoonho Choi, CEO of Samsung SDI (right), and Dongryul Shin, President of Sungkyunkwan University.

On the 11th, Samsung SDI announced that it signed an agreement for the 'Battery Talent Development Program' with Sungkyunkwan University at the Natural Science Campus of Sungkyunkwan University.
The signing ceremony was attended by key figures from both sides, including Shin Dong-ryeol, President of Sungkyunkwan University; Park Seon-gyu, Vice President of the Natural Science Campus; Nam Jae-do, Director of the Sungkyun Convergence Institute; Professor Yoon Won-seop of the Department of Energy Science; as well as Choi Yoon-ho, CEO of Samsung SDI; Jang Hyuk, Head of the Research Institute; Park Jeong-jun, Head of Development at the Small Battery Business Division; and Ahn Jae-woo, Head of Human Resources.
They agreed to operate a talent development program for next-generation secondary battery technology and plan to cultivate core personnel in battery materials, cells, and systems through customized education.
From the 2023 academic year to the 2032 academic year, Samsung SDI will select a total of 100 Samsung SDI scholarship students over 10 years. Students admitted to the master's and doctoral programs will complete battery-related courses and conduct related research, and participate in training programs and contests supported by Samsung SDI.
Students who complete the program will receive individual scholarships during their degree courses and will join Samsung SDI immediately upon graduation.
Shin Dong-ryeol, President of Sungkyunkwan University, stated, "With the combined efforts of our faculty and Samsung SDI's generous support, we can have great expectations for producing outstanding battery talents who will lead the future."
Choi Yoon-ho, CEO of Samsung SDI, said, "The most important factors to become a global top-tier company by 2030 are technology and people, so we will systematically support and invest generously in excellent talents who will lead the future battery industry."
