Gangwon Residents Positively Evaluate Governor Kim Jin-tae's Handling of the 'Legoland Incident' Survey Results on Satisfaction with Gangwon Provincial Government and Residents' Living Conditions [Realmeter]

[Asia Economy Reporter Ra Young-cheol] Despite the so-called 'Legoland incident,' a public opinion survey revealed that residents of Gangwon Province have a positive evaluation of Governor Kim Jin-tae's administration.


According to a nationwide survey conducted by Realmeter, announced on the 10th, targeting 17,000 voters aged 18 and over nationwide (1,000 per metropolitan local government) in two rounds from September 23 to 28 and October 25 to 31, the evaluation of Governor Kim Jin-tae's administration in Gangwon Province showed a positive rating of 49.1% and a negative rating of 42.2%.


Compared to the previous month, the positive rating decreased by 0.7 percentage points, while the negative rating increased by 4.9 percentage points.


During the survey period, of the 49.1% positive ratings, 26.6% rated it as very good and 22.5% as somewhat good. Of the 42.2% negative ratings, 31.6% rated it as very bad, 10.6% as somewhat bad, and 8.7% were unsure. The gap between positive and negative evaluations was 6.9 percentage points.


This is 3.6 percentage points lower than the national average of 52.7%, with an average score of 50.5 out of 100.


In October, the resident satisfaction rate in Gangwon Province was 65.0% (16.3% very satisfied, 48.7% somewhat satisfied), negative evaluations were 30.6% (8.3% very dissatisfied, 22.3% somewhat dissatisfied), 4.4% were unsure, and the gap between positive and negative was 34.4 percentage points.


This is 2.8 percentage points higher than the national average of 62.2%, with an average score of 61.1 out of 100.


Superintendent of Education Shin Kyung-ho’s positive evaluation of educational administration in October was 47.4% (16.1% very good, 31.2% somewhat good), negative evaluation was 32.9% (17.3% very bad, 15.6% somewhat bad), 19.8% were unsure, and the gap between positive and negative evaluations was 14.5 percentage points.


Earlier, marking 100 days since the launch of the 8th civilian administration, a survey commissioned by Gangwon Ilbo to the polling agency Realmeter also showed that 46% of Gangwon residents gave a positive evaluation of Governor Kim Jin-tae’s administration. Superintendent Shin Kyung-ho’s job performance was also positively evaluated.
