'NO Password'... Upbit to Change Login Method Starting from the 21st of This Month

[Asia Economy Reporter Ji Yeon-jin] The virtual asset exchange Upbit will fully implement its own login system, 'Upbit Login,' starting from the 21st of this month. Upbit Login enhances security by adopting 'biometric authentication' and 'PIN number input' methods. Existing Upbit users must complete identity verification through the Upbit application (app) and web by the 20th to ensure stable access.

Upbit announced on the 11th that it added 'Upbit Login' as a login method on the 31st of last month. This passwordless login method improves user experience (UX) and security. Upbit users can now use the service with only a 6-digit PIN password issued through identity verification or biometric authentication (Face ID, fingerprint) without installing any additional programs or apps. An Upbit official stated, "Through the new login method, users will be able to use Upbit more easily and conveniently," adding, "Security has also been strengthened, allowing valuable assets to be traded safely."

Upbit will support the existing social network login methods using Kakao accounts and Apple ID only until the 20th of this month. From the 21st onward, only Upbit Login will be provided. Accordingly, Upbit users must adopt the new login method by the 20th. By completing mobile phone identity verification and bank account authentication through the latest versions of the Upbit web and app (Android version 6.0 or higher, iOS version 13 or higher), users can use the new login system.

According to Upbit, users who do not adopt the new login method by the 20th may experience inconvenience in using some services after the 21st of the same month. Upbit stated, "Due to the application of the changed login method, immediate response to previously submitted orders and rapid transactions may be difficult," and urged users to switch to the Upbit login method in advance.
