Nexon Records Record Single-Quarter Revenue of 97.5 Billion Yen... Impact of 'Dungeon & Fighter Mobile' and 'HIT2' Success

[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] Nexon achieved its highest-ever single-quarter revenue in the third quarter.

Nexon announced on the 9th that its revenue for the third quarter of this year was 97.5 billion yen (9.426 trillion KRW), a 28% increase compared to the same period last year.

Operating profit was 31.5 billion yen (3.049 trillion KRW), up 6% from the same period last year. Net profit was 43.3 billion yen (4.188 trillion KRW), a 14% increase compared to the same period last year.

Nexon's revenue was driven by the strong performance of new mobile titles such as Dungeon & Fighter Mobile and HIT2, as well as major live titles including FIFA Online 4, MapleStory, and Mabinogi.

In particular, HIT2, which reinterprets Nexon's flagship mobile intellectual property (IP) HIT as an MMORPG, led mobile revenue by ranking first in highest sales immediately after release and maintaining a top position. Additionally, Dungeon & Fighter Mobile contributed to third-quarter revenue, resulting in a 93% increase in domestic mobile revenue compared to the same period last year.

Nexon also achieved the highest third-quarter revenue simultaneously for three steady-selling PC online titles: FIFA Online 4, MapleStory, and Mabinogi.

FIFA Online 4, which has been breaking quarterly records for three consecutive quarters, saw a significant increase in revenue as its summer update and events received positive responses from users. Beyond the game itself, opportunities to enjoy both FIFA Online 4 and soccer were provided through K League broadcasts, offline brand experience centers, and online mini concerts.

MapleStory, which continued active communication and updates reflecting user feedback and new content, saw a 47% increase in revenue compared to the same period last year. Meanwhile, Mabinogi recorded a 66% revenue increase compared to the same period last year, driven by its 18th anniversary launch event and a large-scale summer update, marking the highest third-quarter revenue for both titles.

In the third quarter of this year, Nexon showed balanced growth across both mobile and PC online platforms by achieving remarkable results with new mobile titles such as Dungeon & Fighter Mobile and HIT2, as well as multiple steady-selling PC online live titles.

Owen Mahoney, CEO of Nexon (Japan), said, “Despite the challenging global business environment, we were able to achieve such good results thanks to the users who cherish and love Nexon games. We will continue to do our best to service games that can be enjoyed for a long time across various genres and platforms.”

Meanwhile, Nexon is preparing to release new titles in various genres, including the root shooter First Descendant, melee PvP game Warhaven, global multiplatform racing game KartRider: Drift, and team-based FPS game The Finals.
